Hi, I'm Rod... but everyone calls me Jax.

I almost started this page with, "Hi, I'm Jax, and I'm an alcoh..." but I figured making couples question their photographer in the first sentence probably wasn't the best marketing strategy.

Photography wasn't always the plan..

After retiring from the Air Force, my wife and I turned a shared passion into a business. We originally photographed weddings together before she found her calling in boudoir, maternity, and empowerment photography. These days she runs T3 Empowering Photography, while I spend my weekends doing what I love most… photographing weddings and senior portraits. We still team up whenever the opportunity calls for it.

What keeps me coming back is the organized chaos of a wedding day.

Timelines shift. Weather changes. Boutonnieres disappear. Someone forgets the rings. Somehow it all comes together.

And honestly... I love every second of it.

My job isn't just taking great photos.

I'm there to keep things moving, calm the nerves, fix the little problems before they become big ones, and remind you to breathe when the day starts flying by. By the end of your wedding, I don't want to feel like "the photographer." I want to feel like another member of your wedding team who just happened to bring a camera.

Senior sessions are no different.

Whether we're hiking to your favorite overlook, walking downtown, hanging out on your home field, or finding that perfect golden-hour light, I want your session to feel like you, not like you're starring in an awkward photo shoot.

What you can expect from me.

  • Having your picture taken can feel awkward. That’s why I like to hop on a phone call (I know, old school) and chat for a little bit so you can get a good vibe from me, and I can learn a little about your personality.

  • I believe that, as a consumer, you don’t know what you don’t know when it comes to photography. Because of that, I make sure to communicate and answer all your questions. I walk you through what you can expect for the day and I bring up things you should keep in mind. I don’t want to make decisions for you, but I want to make sure you’re well-informed.

  • Photography is more than just taking pretty pictures. It’s about capturing real moments that can be shared and passed on. It’s about creating heirlooms that document your family’s history. I aim to capture genuine moments that show the real you.
